Siskiyou Cedar is found only in the remote coastal mountains of the Northwest’s Siskiyou country. Its compelling aroma is extremely evocative and was said to have strongly affected 19th-century seamen who sailed schooners made from the fresh wood—“The odor grew and grew on them till they were almost mad with it” (Donald Peattie).
